Workers from two Thai taxi cooperatives in Bangkok have put small gardens on the roofs of cars that aren't being used because of the coronavirus pandemic. The taxi roof gardens are made with plastic garbage bags and bamboo and contain many different vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers and beans. The gardens make the car park of unused taxis look like a piece of art, and that's part of the reason for them: to raise awareness of how drivers and business have been affected by coronavirus restrictions.

The Ratchapruk and Bovorn Taxi cooperatives now have just 500 cars being driven in Bangkok, with 2,500 cars left unused, says 54-year-old executive Thapakorn Assawalertkul.
